Board-Medical Staff Relationships

The board-medical staff relationship should be a trusting partnership, where both the medical staff and hospital board work closely together to provide quality care for patients. Hospital boards and medical staffs often have differing perspectives and unique cultures, which can lead to a disconnect between the two. There are actions that board members can take to improve alignment to build a high functioning, strong hospital and medical staff relationship.
